Where We Meet
A Creative Access Toolkit for Immersive Performance
Immersive performance doesn’t come with a manual. No two experiences are the same and that makes designing with access in mind incredibly complex to design for. Unlike traditional theatre, there are no clear blueprints, no one-size-fits-all guidelines.
Building an accessible experience for Where We Meet was the result of six months of rigorous R&D, where Unwired Dance Theatre collaborated with consultants, disabled participants, and creative technologists to shape a fully integrated access journey - from concept through to audience experience. This process wasn’t just about compliance. It was about co-creation. It was about embedding access at the heart of the creative process - not tacking it on at the end.
Now, we’re opening that process up.
The case study and toolkit are a living, practical resource built from real-world experimentation, unexpected discoveries, and the hard-earned lessons of pushing boundaries in XR performance. If you’re creating work that’s immersive, interactive, or tech-driven, this is for you.
