Where We Meet x Jacob’s Pillow
As part of Jacob’s Pillow’s opening week festival—an ambitious showcase of boundary-pushing dance and technology—Unwired Dance Theatre presents Where We Meet, an interactive and immersive performance that invites audiences into a deeply personal exploration of human connection.
Unwired is proud to bring the US premiere of this work in collaboration with Jacob’s Pillow. The festival inaugurates the new Duris Duke Theatre, designed to be a living lab for innovation, which will be the perfect space for Unwired Dance Theatre’s pioneering blend of spatial audio, XR and immersive choreography.
What if you could hear other people’s inner thoughts?
Where We Meet is an interactive and immersive dance performance where audiences can experience the inner thoughts of each character. It is an invitation to rediscover the joy of human connection, as an antidote to today’s increasingly digital - yet divided and lonely - world.
Audiences explore the space, wearing interactive headphones which track their movement and give the gift of telepathy. As they approach the characters, their inner worlds are revealed through a combination of spatial audio and choreography, triggering uniquely intimate and confessional moments in real time. Alongside ample and varied opportunities for opt-in audience interaction, Where We Meet empowers audiences to forge genuine connections with other people through playful discovery.
